Mount Vernon's girls' basketball team won its first two games in the Class 2A State Tournament this week. Micah Wieditz (left) helped the Mustangs to an overtime win over Audubon Tuesday; Taylor Dicus and Liz Skotowski combined for 24 points in Mount Vernon's 47-38 win over Roland-Story Thursday. The Mustangs play for the state championship Friday night.
