About the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun
The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun is the official newspaper of Mount Vernon, Lisbon, and Bertham, Iowa. The Sun is published every Thursday except the week following Christmas by the West Branch Times Communcations Corporation, 108 First Street SW, Mount Vernon, Iowa 52314.

The Sun is a member of the Iowa Newspaper Association. The Spotlight, a companion nonduplicating shopper, is a member of Midwest Free Community Papers.

Weekly Deadline
The weekly deadline for news and advertising is 3 p.m. Monday. The deadline for legals is noon Monday.

Office Hours
The Sun's office is at 108 First Street West, Mount Vernon, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays. The office is closed on the weekends and major holidays.

Submitting a Letter to the Editor
The opinion page in the print edition of The Sun is open to readers of all viewpoints. Mail your letter to the address below or e-mail it to news@mtvernonlisbonsun.com. Please include a daytime phone number for verification purposes only. Letters must be signed to run. Cards of thanks run as classified announcements.
