FEATURED PICTURE · A celebration of Homecoming 2008 was in full force in Mount Vernon last week, as a Thursday, Oct. 2, parade led by the marching band kicked off the weekend of activities. The parade snaked down to the football field, where hundreds gathered for the presentation of this year’s Homecoming court. Mackenzie Havill was crowned queen; Alex Brannaman was crowned king.
